Fever and 4th month vaccination

We took half day leave on the 6th of Jan to bring Baby SS for 4th month vaccination. When we brought her back from bbsitter, I noticed watery liquid inside her nose, she seems to be having flu! :( She was abit cranky that afternoon and abit warm, but little did we know that she is having fever. Once we arrived to the clinic, I told the doc immediately about the flu and he measured Baby SS's temperature. It was 38.1C :(. Fever!!! My poor girl, yet she was still smiling at us when doc was examining her lungs and etc.

So we have to postpone the vaccination to next week. On the spot, the nurse inject 2.2ml of paracetamol to Baby SS's mouth through syringe and she cried. :(

We managed to weight her and measured her height. She is officially 7.1kg and 67cm now.

Merry Christmas!!

This is our first time celebrating Christmas with Baby SS. Daddy and Mummy were so excited to bring her to see Christmas tree! Early in the morning, we prepared stuffs for going out and put on a white dress for Baby SS. All set to go! :D

My dear SS likes to smile alot. Merry Christmas SS! :D

Baby SS - 3 months old

Weight : 6.5kg
Interesting Note : She started to play with her saliva, her mouth and her lips to make some funny sound. There was once I was carrying her and eating in the dining room in Ipoh, the moment I eat and put food into my mouth, she will move her mouth and make sound! Haha, when i stopped, she stopped, tried so many times eating and she repeatedly move her lips and made sound. Cute girl, want to eat mummy's food perhaps?

By 3 months old, Baby SS likes to move her leg up and down as well. We started to remove her mittens when she is 14 weeks old, to let her explore grabbing and touching things. Here is the first clip when I remove her mittens. She was so excited grabbing the monkey and hippo loops! :D

Baby SS bathing

Baby SS dislikes bathing. During confinement, my CL helped to bath SS. SS is very scared of water. With certain techniques (holding both her hands so that she feels secure) and slowly put her into bath tub, she will not cry, but still looks frightened. As time passed by, she is more used to bathing, less frightened but still not enjoying the session. Also, one important thing to take note, we can never bath Baby SS when she is hungry. She will blast out her speaker, so normally I will bath her after an hour from feeding. We also purchased a bath tub with slide for SS to rest her buttock and back, I felt more confident bathing her in this. Here is video capturing Baby SS bathing :)

I still remember the first day my babysitter bathing SS. Her technique is so different and Baby SS cried the loudest! I have not seen the poor girl crying so loud before, with so much tears! Sob sob. Heartache. So I taught my bbsitter the way I bath SS and ask her to follow instead. Nowadays, Baby SS does not cry anymore. :)

Here is the latest mok gong chu photo of Baby SS, my current wallpaper.

Baby SS burping and poo poo

Hehe. As mentioned in the title, this post is to capture the moment of Baby SS burping after milk feeding and pass motion sessions. We plan to capture more videos of her as she grows. Baby SS is super cooperative in the sense that, her daddy called out "Action" and Baby SS immediately burp and poo poo subsequently! :D

Thrush

One fine friday afternoon while I was working, I received a call from my babysitter. I was worried as my babysitter seldom call me up unless something urgent. From the call, she informed me that Baby SS's mouth appear whitish...which we later found out to be thrush.

Quoted from PubMed Health : Thrush is a yeast infection of the mucus membrane lining the mouth and tongue. Thrush appears as whitish, velvety sores in the mouth and on the tongue. Underneath the whitish material, there is red tissue that may bleed easily. The sores can slowly increase in number and size. Thrush is commonly seen in infants. It is not considered abnormal in infants unless it lasts longer than a couple of weeks."

We were worried if the thrush will worsen and causing uncomfort to Baby SS if they start bleeding :( So, I called up our pediatrician immediately and emailed him some photos of Baby SS's mouth. He was very helpful and confirmed they were thrush symptoms. He also told us to buy daktarin oral gel to apply on the lips and ensured us it will go away very fast. Very true indeed!

Baby SS's lip with thrush. Her lips were back to normal after applying the oral gel for a day :)
